Nuzio Labs Private Limited, a company incorporated under the provisions of the Companies Act, 2013 and having its registered office at Flat No. 74-D, B-4, IIIrd Floor Keshav Puram, Keshav Puram (North West Delhi), North West Delhi, Delhi, Delhi, India, 110035 (“Nuzio AI”, “Company”, “We”, “Us”, or “Our”), is committed to protecting the privacy and security of the Personal Data entrusted to Us.

This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) describes how We collect, use, process, store, disclose, transfer, retain and otherwise handle Personal Data when You access or use the Nuzio website located at www.nuzioai.com, the Nuzio mobile application, and all related products, services, software, features and content made available by the Company (collectively, the “Platform”).

Nuzio is an artificial intelligence-powered news discovery and audio briefing platform that enables users to receive personalized news summaries, audio briefings, recommendations, and related services. In providing these Services, the Company processes certain Personal Data in accordance with the provisions of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”), the rules framed thereunder, and all other applicable laws.

1. Definitions

Unless the context otherwise requires, the following expressions shall have the meanings assigned below.

“Account” means the registered user account created on the Platform.

“AI Systems” means artificial intelligence models, machine learning algorithms, natural language processing systems, recommendation engines, voice synthesis technologies, personalization engines and other automated technologies used by Nuzio for providing its Services.

“Applicable Law” means all applicable statutes, rules, regulations, notifications, governmental directions and judicial decisions applicable to the Company, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

“Consent” shall have the meaning assigned under the DPDP Act and means a free, specific, informed, unconditional and unambiguous indication of the User's agreement signifying the processing of Personal Data for the specified purpose.

“Data Fiduciary” shall have the meaning assigned under the DPDP Act. Nuzio Labs Private Limited acts as the Data Fiduciary in respect of Personal Data processed through the Platform.

“Personal Data” means any data about an individual who is identifiable by or in relation to such data, as defined under the DPDP Act.

“Personalization Data” means information relating to User preferences, interests, language selections, profession, listening behaviour, interaction history, content preferences and similar information used to personalize the Services.

“Processing” includes collection, recording, organization, storage, adaptation, retrieval, use, sharing, disclosure, transmission, restriction, erasure or destruction of Personal Data or any operation performed on Personal Data.

“User”, “You” and “Your” mean any individual accessing or using the Platform, corresponding to the term Data Principal under the DPDP Act.

2. Applicability of this Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to all Users who visit or browse the Platform, create or maintain an Account, subscribe to any paid or free Services, communicate with the Company, access any AI-powered functionality offered by Nuzio, or otherwise provide Personal Data to the Company.

This Policy does not apply to third-party websites accessed through links on the Platform, independent publishers or news providers, third-party payment gateways, app stores, advertisers, or external service providers operating under their own privacy policies.

3. Consent and Legal Basis of Processing

Nuzio processes Personal Data only where permitted under Applicable Law. Where the DPDP Act requires Consent, the Company shall obtain such Consent through a clear affirmative action before processing Personal Data for the relevant purpose. Where processing is not based on Consent, Nuzio shall process Personal Data only where such processing falls within the Legitimate Uses recognized under Section 7 of the DPDP Act.

You may withdraw Your Consent at any time where processing is based on Consent. Withdrawal of Consent shall not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to such withdrawal, and may affect the availability of certain personalized or AI-enabled features.

4. Categories of Personal Data We Collect

4.1 Account Information

Full name, email address, mobile number, username, encrypted or hashed password, authentication credentials, profile photograph (where voluntarily provided), and account preferences.

4.2 Device and Technical Information

IP address, browser type, operating system, device model, device identifiers, application version, language settings, network information, time zone, session identifiers, crash reports, diagnostic and performance logs, and security logs.

4.3 Personalization Information

Selected news categories, preferred language(s), preferred voice and narration settings, preferred briefing duration, profession or industry (where voluntarily provided), topics and publishers followed, listening and playback history, saved or bookmarked content, ratings and feedback, and search history within the Platform.

4.4 Location Information

Approximate or precise location, city, region and country, where You grant the necessary device permissions, used to personalize regional content and detect suspicious activity.

4.5 Voice and Audio Information

Voice commands, audio recordings, speech-to-text transcriptions and related metadata, processed to provide requested functionality. Where technically feasible, audio recordings are retained for thirty days unless a longer period is required for security, legal, or consent reasons.

4.6 Subscription and Payment Information

Subscription plan, payment status, billing amount, currency, transaction identifiers and invoice details. Payment card details, UPI credentials and similar financial information are processed directly by authorized third-party payment processors; Nuzio does not store complete card numbers, CVVs or UPI PINs.

4.7 Communications

Email correspondence, customer support requests, grievance submissions, survey responses, feedback and bug reports.

4.8 Device Permissions

Microphone, notifications, location, storage/media library and camera permissions, as required for specific features. You may revoke these at any time through Your device settings.

4.9 Analytics and Usage Information

Session duration, screen views, clickstream data, navigation patterns, referral sources, feature usage, crash analytics and other aggregated usage information.

5. Purposes of Processing

Personal Data is processed for account management, providing the Services (including personalized recommendations, audio briefings and cross-device sync), artificial intelligence processing, service improvement, security and fraud prevention, and legal and regulatory compliance.

Third Party Model Disclosure. Nuzio does not develop, own, or train any foundational artificial intelligence model. The Platform uses third-party large language model infrastructure, including models made available by Google, solely to summarize third-party news content into a briefing script and to convert that script into audio. Nuzio does not transmit Your name, email address, mobile number, or other direct identifier to any such third party. Limited Personalization Data attributes such as language preference, profession, or briefing duration may be included without any accompanying direct identifier.

AI-generated outputs are produced using automated systems and may not always be complete, current or free from inaccuracies. Users should independently verify information before relying on AI-generated summaries for professional, financial, legal, medical or other important decisions.

6. Legal Basis for Processing

Nuzio processes Personal Data exclusively on the legal basis of valid Consent or for Certain Legitimate Uses as strictly defined under the DPDP Act, and does not process Personal Data for purposes incompatible with those consented to.

7. Disclosure of Personal Data

Nuzio does not sell, rent, trade or otherwise disclose Personal Data to third parties for their independent marketing purposes. Personal Data may be shared with contractually bound service providers (cloud hosting, AI and speech processing, analytics, payment processing, customer support and similar functions), in the event of a business transfer, or where required under Applicable Law. Aggregated or de-identified information is not considered Personal Data and may be used for research and product improvement.

8. Cross-Border Transfer of Personal Data

The Company's technology infrastructure and certain service providers may be located outside India. Personal Data may accordingly be transferred to, stored in, or processed in other countries, subject to contractual, technical and organizational safeguards, and never to a country restricted by the Central Government under the DPDP Act.

10. Information Security

The Company maintains a comprehensive information security program, including encryption in transit and at rest where appropriate, secure password hashing, role-based access controls, network monitoring, vulnerability assessments and employee confidentiality obligations. No method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure. In the event of a Personal Data breach likely to result in harm, the Company will investigate, contain and mitigate the incident and notify the Data Protection Board of India and affected Users as required under the DPDP Act.

11. Your Rights

Subject to the DPDP Act and other applicable law, You may exercise the right to access information about processing of Your Personal Data, request correction or updating of inaccurate data, request erasure where no longer necessary or where Consent is withdrawn, withdraw Consent at any time, raise a grievance with the Grievance Officer, and nominate another individual to exercise Your rights in the event of Your death or incapacity.

12. Cookies, SDKs and Similar Technologies

The Platform uses essential, functional, analytics and personalization cookies and similar technologies to maintain sessions, remember preferences, personalize content and improve performance. On first access, Users are presented with a cookie consent banner allowing acceptance, rejection or management of non-essential cookies.

13. Children's Privacy

The Platform is not intended for individuals below eighteen years of age. Nuzio Labs Private Limited strictly prohibits tracking, behavioural monitoring, or targeted advertising directed at children, and will obtain verifiable parental consent before processing any Personal Data of a child, in accordance with Section 9 of the DPDP Act.

14. Third-Party Websites

The Platform may link to third-party websites, applications or services that operate independently of the Company. The Company is not responsible for the privacy practices, security or content of any third party.

15. Account Deletion

You may request deletion of Your Account through the Platform settings or by contacting the Grievance Officer. Following verification, the Company will delete or anonymize Personal Data within the retention periods above, except where retention is legally required. Deletion may result in permanent loss of saved preferences, listening history, bookmarks, and personalized recommendations.

16. Changes to this Privacy Policy

The Company may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in Applicable Law, technology, or the Services. Material changes will be communicated through the Platform, email or other appropriate means, and fresh Consent will be obtained where required.

The Company shall acknowledge all grievances within twenty four hours and resolve them within fifteen days, in compliance with the Information Technology Rules, 2021 and the DPDP Act.

18. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Delhi, India.
